If you ever go to Laurel Caverns, up Laurel Ridge, east of Uniontown, be sure to go out on the back deck of the visitors center and pat the $0.50 to use the Viewfinder. On a clear day, you can just make out the top of the Steel Tower and the Mellon Building 46ish miles away.
Wikipedia claims that the Steel Tower is visible for over 50 miles from Laurel Ridge, but I’m wondering if this is a theoretical maximum or if there’s a spot further south along Rt 2001 where an individual might be able to spot the tower (or if there’s a similarly distant view from another direction).
