It is the civic duty of every Pittsburgher who entertains out-of-town visitors to take them up to Mount Washington and show off the skyline. These two pictures were taken a few years ago, but the overall impression changes little.
Why should the beautiful die?

Getting up to Fineview isn’t as much fun, and there’s literally nothing else to do once you’re there, but the view from the overlook on Catoma Street at Meadville is, at least in my opinion, even better than the Mount Washington view.
Also difficult to get to, but worth trying once, is the Gerst Way footbridge over the Parkway North, about half a mile south of old St Boniface Church.
